OLPro Cubo Breeze Inflatable Awning
The Cubo Breeze is one of the new breed of driveaway awnings by OLPro, its the first time we have tried one of these awnings and we were impressed.
It comes inside a good sized zip up bag, complete with pegs, guy ropes, storm straps and a good quality pump. When packed in the bag it measures around 3ft by 18 inches and was easily stowable in the bathroom compartment on our Romahome R30 whilst driving to the campsite. If you have the bench type seats with storage underneath it would fit in there or on the luton area of some motorhomes.
Once unpacked there are three tubes to pump up this was very easy and took around 5 minutes in total without too much exertion. From that point it's just a matter of pegging it down, the whole process took us no longer than half an hour. There are no poles apart from the very small pole that holds the porch in place over the front door. A central inflated beam keeps the awning very stable, and when pumped up the tubes are very strong and solid. We didn't have any wind whilst trying it out but with the guy ropes and storm straps in place I can imagine that it will stand up to the strongest of winds.
Once erected we were pleasantly surprised how roomy it was inside, it has a sewn in groundsheet and when the doors are zipped up is completely enclosed, so it suitable for sleeping and you won't be troubled by draughts or the campsite cat looking for food. We will use it for our grandchildren to sleep in when they come camping with us.
There is a large door which zips up and a fly screen which will enable you to open the door for ventilation but not let insects in on those balmy summer nights. There are two windows one each side with zip down flaps for privacy. Four corner triangular windows help to give the awning a lovely airy bright feeling whilst you sit inside sipping your wine and relaxing. Another zip door with flyscreen leads to the tunnel area which can be attached to the van. We attached it to our Fiamma wind out awning but it could also be attached by throwing straps over the van.
When you want to drive off site for a days sight seeing the tunnel area can be easily rolled up and fixed to the awning and with the doors zipped up it becomes a stand alone unit which can be safely left on site until you return.
