Oil Filled Radiator.

This is our small oil filled radiator which we bought from Argos in April 2010. They are also available from Amazon HERE

Small and compact it easily stores away in the van when not in use, it does get hot so be careful if you have young children or dogs/cats in the van.

Movelite Awning

We find our Movelite 'Square' Drive Away Awning a real bonus when camping with our gradchildren or when we just want a little extra storage space. It fits easily to the side of the motorhome and can be attached either with the supplied fixing straps or the optional extra 'Fiamma Awning Kit", this attaches the Movelite to the van using the Fiamma wind out awining, if you have one.

We sometimes use it on the back of the van if the pitch is long enough. By using the supplied anchor straps it fits snuggly to the back doors and you can get in and out into the awning.

The Movelite is lightweight and packs small enough to store easily in a small van. The internal inner bedroom has zipped door and flyscreen , it can be positioned either side of the awning depending on where you want your door. The inner bedroom quickly removes if you want more space during the day.

It is quick and easy to erect and dries exceptionally quickly when wet.

The Movelite is made by Outdoor Revolution, they also make other products such as utility storage tents, caravan awnings, windbreaks and camping accessories such as sleeping bags and ground sheets - to name but a few. More information can be found of the Outdoor Revolution website:

They are available from Amazon HERE

Royal Windbreak

Lightweight and easy to set up we love our Royal Windbreak especially the window which runs the full length of the windbreak, it means you can still see what is going on when you are sitting behind it!

We often use it rather than setting up the full awing when we want some privacy on site during a short stay. It fits nicely around our Fiamma awning too, making a small enclosure to shield you from the sun or a light shower. Buy one from Amazon HERE

Raskelf Duvalay

Are you uncomfortable sleeping in your Motorhome or caravan? So was I until I tried a Raskelf Duvalay.

So what is a Raskelf Duvalay? It's a sort of sleeping bag but much much better, it’s a single cover with two pockets, the lower pocket contains a memory foam mattress topper and the upper pocket contains a duvet. They are attached to each other down one side and across the bottom, the other side is open for you to slip into bed and pull the duvet over you.

I found there was ample duvet to snuggle up into and I didn't feel restricted like in a sleeping bag, you can turn over with ease, tuck your knees up to your chest and lie on your back with your knees up! Try doing that in a sleeping bag and you'll see what I mean.

You can put two together to make a pair and you can turn them round so that they open on either side.

Both the duvet and the memory foam can be unzipped and taken out of the cover enabling the cover to be washed. The memory foam is also in a separate zip cover which can be removed.

You can buy either a summer warmth or a winter warmth, so no matter what weather you are camping in your are sure to be nice and snug in your Duvalay.

As far as storage goes the Duvalay can be rolled up and put away in your caravan under-bed storage or if you have a Motorhome we found there was ample room on the luton area of the van above the cab.

The summer warmth Duvalay retails at £119 (Sept 2010) and in my opinion for a good nights sleep in your caravan or Motorhome it is good value.

You can buy Duvalay's from our Amazon HERE

or you can buy direct from the manufacturers here:

Remoska Electric Cooker

This is an ideal dual purpose electric cooker, you can take it with you camping and it's also invaluable in the kitchen at home, it is incredible economical with electricity and uses less than half that a conventional fan assisted electric oven does. So if you want to cook something instead of using your oven just get out the Remoska and save money.

Have you ever been camping to one of those all electric sites where you pay up to £5 a night for electricity? You don't wantpicremoska1 electricity but you have to pay for it as it is included in the pitch price. Small motorhomes and caravans in particular don't have many electrical gadgets but we have to pay the same price as giant units with a whole range of electricity eating accessories. If you go camping and are forced to have a pitch with an electric hook up which you didn't really want, then you can cook your meal in the Remoska and save on your gas, after all you are paying for it so you might as well use it, that's where the Remoska comes in, it's an ideal size to fit in the cupboard of your van and when you get home transfer it back to the kitchen.

You can use it just like a conventional oven, it will cook anything from baked potatoes to roast chicken, casseroles to pies and it will also bake cakes and scones.

The cooking is all done with the lid which sits on top of a non stick Teflon deep pan, the lid has a convenient window in so you can check on your cooking without lifting it off. The pan is very easy to clean.

You can read more about Remoska's on their website Remoska's are available exclusively at Lakeland and retail at £103.99 for a standard Remoska (ideal for small motorhomes) or £124.99 Grand Remoska.

Update: Remoska's are now available from Amazon HERE

Here are some comments from Remoska owners on our forum:

Gadgetman: I have the Remoska and use it for cooking every time I hook up on C&CC sites, though expensive worth every penny in my opinion

Bluebell: I bought one at the end of last year. I've used it in the kitchen at home and also in the van. Never had any problem with it.

Derek: I am also a fan of the Remoska. We bought the small one for the Romahome (the one without the glass in the lid) and started using it at home, it never did make it into the Romahome and was in regular use at home. When we took on our static last year we took it there where it is still going strong.

Bryan: I am also a big fan of the Remoska. I used mine last at Teversal with no problems at all, cooking steak pie slices, baked potatoes, etc. from the site shop, as I am on my own I use the standard one, it gets used most days at home, though pricey a fantastic buy, have not used my cooker oven since the purchase.

Update: We have had the Remoska for several weeks now and are delighted with it, we use it at home and in the van, we recently cooked the Jambalaya recipe on our recipes page and it cooked in one pot and was perfect.

12 Volt Inverter

This gadget is great for wild campers or camping on a non electric pitch. It will convert the 12v electricity in the van to 240 volt electricity for household appliances. One end plugs into a normal 12 volt socket (i.e. cigarette lighter) and the other end is a normal 3 pin plug socket. Brilliant for charging phones, laptops, computer tablets, cameras, etc. It will even run a small television but not for heavy usage equipment such as electric fires.

If you are plugging into your vehicle battery you should be careful not to use too much as you could end up with a flat battery but it is ideal for charging small appliances. We bought ours from Amazon very cheaply see below.
